The film opens as a Staffordshire Bull Terrier puppy is adopted by a family. They name him Bull (Adam Devine) and they instantly fall in love with him. Two years later, Bull is obsessed with humping anything he can mess with, his favorite being Nana’s (Grey DeLisle) leg. Bull’s owners are disgusted by his behavior, but they still love him. Nana accidentally grabs Bull’s penis, causing him to run around and hump anything that can bring him relief. Bull goes outside and speaks to the neighbor dog, a beautiful Borzoi showdog named Honey (Kathryn Hahn). Bull has had a crush on Honey since they were puppies, and she has always been his close friend that shares his perverted nature. It is also shown that Honey reciprocates Bull’s feelings. Bull later goes for a walk, where he meets with his other dog buddies – a boxer named Rocco (Idris Elba), an influencer Dachshund named Fetch (Fred Armisen), and a Jack Russell Terrier named Lucky (Bobby Moynihan). They all have their quirks, like Lucky eating cat poop and thinking it’s a flaxseed protein bar, and Rocco is self-conscious because there was no room for his mother to breastfeed him. They go to the dog park, where they find an older Great Dane named Luther (Aaron LaPlante), who looks miserable and has a cone over his head. Luther tells the four dogs that he was recently neutered after his owners gave him the best day of his life, seeing the procedure as a betrayal. Rocco, Fetch, and Lucky also went through the procedure and warn Bull what it will be like when it’s his turn. They are then taunted by Sterling (Beck Bennett), another prized Borzoi who is an arrogant jerk. He wants to mate with Honey in the hopes of producing prized

offspring, but she expresses admiration towards Bull. When Bull returns home, his owners start pampering him and letting him do whatever he wants (eating out of the garbage, humping anything he wants, etc). They even put Kool-Aid in the toilet bowl for him to drink out of, something that Luther said his owners did before he got fixed. Bull realizes what is going on and thinks his owners are preparing him for something horrible. He complains to his friends about his impending neutering, thinking he’s going to be seen as a freak. This offends Rocco, Fetch, and Lucky since they think Bull perceives them as such, so they ditch him. That night, Bull sneaks out of the house to prevent his surgery. He eats loose food from a festival and catches a secondhand high from some stoners. He then walks into an alley and runs afoul of some cats, who prepare to rip him apart. Bull is saved by Rocco, Fetch, and Lucky, who fight the cats off and get Bull out safely. Bull prepares to accept his fate and go home, but Rocco decides that he deserves to get some use out of his balls before they are gone forever. The dogs decide to hit the town. The four first start by chasing a squirrel to the outside of a restaurant and tear it to pieces messily in front of horrified diners. Lucky then catches a high after getting sprayed by a skunk, but the others keep their distance from him until the smell wears off. The four then free a small dog from its owners purse, and it briefly joins them in robbing a hot dog cart until a car runs the little dog over. Bull spots Honey being driven by her owner to a dog show. The

other dogs agree to join Bull in looking for her there so he can tell her how he really feels about her, and potentially mate with her. They infiltrate the show, where Honey has a brief crisis over seeing other dogs who look like her, making her feel like she doesn’t stand out. Meanwhile, Sterling is reveling in his fame and success, despite there being other Borzois like him. Rocco is accidentally entered, and when the judges touch him, he causes a riot among the other dogs, who start barking and going crazy. Bull tries to get to Honey, but she and Sterling won had already won and he feels he has lost her. Hoping to cheer Bull up, the dogs take him to a “Humphouse”, a dog strip club/brothel. Lucky falls for Frankie (River Gallo), an intersex Dobermann, who shows Lucky that his impulsive desires can have positive effects. Bull goes off with a brown Borzoi named Molasses (Michelle Buteau) to have sex, but he finds himself unable to do the deed since he loves Honey. Just before he can leave, Honey shows up and catches Bull in a compromising position with Molasses. Before he can explain himself, Honey decides she is done with Bull. The party is broken up by dog catchers, and Bull and his friends are taken in. At the animal pound, Honey’s owners pick her up since she has a microchip. Bull resigns to his fate until he realizes that Honey and Sterling are going to be made to mate. The dogs then lure the guards over by pissing all over the place, causing them to slip and allowing Fetch to grab the keys and free the other dogs (but not the cats). On their way home, Lucky runs off to find Frankie, and they

reunite romantically. Bull spots “missing dog” posters around town, making him realize that his owners have been worried about him. Rocco and Fetch catch up to Bull and help him jump over the fence to Honey’s house (after many failed attempts of Bull trying by himself). He lands on Honey’s back just as Sterling gets ready to insert himself, but he ends up getting penetrated by Sterling, who is so into himself that he doesn’t notice. Bull confesses his feelings to Honey despite how she found him. Bull goes back home, where Rocco and Fetch call him a hero (despite the trauma over being raped). He then goes inside the house, where his owners lovingly welcome him back. Later that night, Honey comes over to Bull’s backyard and tells Bull how she has always felt the same about him. The two then proceed to finally mate. In the morning, Bull goes to get neutered without a fight. He has a vision of him and his balls – Ol’ Spice and Napoleon – having fun together one last time like old friends until they are gone forever. Three months later, Bull joins Rocco, Fetch, and Lucky at the park. He and Honey have had a litter of pups, while Sterling’s owners take him to get fixed as well, something that makes him start to panic (while Luther laughs at him). Honey tells Bull that she and her girlfriends are going out for the night. Bull thinks they won’t get into anything too crazy, until they later show up outside a club for female dogs where they watch a male bear twerking, to the surprise of the guys. he learns that his owners plan to neuter him in the morning, Bull runs away and goes out on the town with his friends - Rocco, Fetch, and Lucky - to put his testicles to use one last time before they are gone forever. After getting into some shenanigans, Bull attempts to mate with Honey, his next-door neighbor and longtime best friend/crush. However, when he and the guys infiltrate a dog show, he thinks that Honey is going to end up with another prized Borzoi named Sterling. Bull and the guys go to a dog strip club, where Lucky falls for an intersex Dobermann named Frankie. Honey tries to tell Bull she likes him too, but she catches him almost hooking up with another female Borzoi named Molasses. The dogs are then taken by dog catchers. Honey's owners pick her up, but Bull and the guys free themselves from the pound so Bull can go to Honey, and Lucky returns to Frankie. Bull discovers that his owners were worried sick about him, but before returning home, he goes to Honey's yard to prevent her and Sterling from mating by getting between them and takes Sterling in while confessing his feelings to Honey. He goes home and is lovingly welcomed back by his owners, and Honey later shows up to admit to Bull that she has always felt the same about him before they mate. Bull and Honey have a litter of puppies while Sterling finds out he's getting fixed too.
